There are so many things involved with the clutch that it''s knowing where to start!
I can now just about be sure that with the preferred components & careful setting that a five/six plate clutch be built. It's only taken close to five decades.....
Your problems sounds as if it could be down to the clutch bell/operating system.
Gear clusters (without the centre hole for the earlier bell), GP type clutch release & Indian remade bells are a poor combination. If you test any bell in a vice, there are many poor pattern ones that distort/compress far too easily. I only trust Innocenti bells now & that was the cure for a CamLam six plater that arrived with me fitted with the cr@p bell. It had been fitted @ a "top dealer's" so no surprise there

It dragged & slipped with only four plates but it now has six & does not drag @ all. Mind you, ATF helps & allows for slicker gearchanges IMHO
