SIP 2 Fuel Gauge

Postby Delboyli150 » Sun Mar 21, 2021 3:13 pm

OK, Brought a SIP 2 Speedo around 6mths ago, Little wear/tear.

The Fuel gauge has now stopped working, as in 'Fuel' warning now flashing.

I have filled the Tank, using a continuity Tester, I do read a 'close' circuit at the Fuel cable Tap end, and when connecting the SIP Sensor cable, I also read a 'close 'circuit at the headset end so all good. When disconnected the cable I do get a 'Open' Circuit so I know the cables are good. BUT when plug into the Sip 2 Speedo unit I get the 'Fuel' warning so this tells me it is internal.

Question is has anybody else had this problem? Is it a fix, either send off or do it yourself? Or is it a worst case and a new Sip 2 Speedo, if so not impressed after 6 mths of very light use. (Will point out I have had these on my other scoots and all good, so could be a bad batch.

Thanks in advance.

Probably not the case with yours if all the connections are standard SIP but I had the same when the fuel sender and temp sender wire were mixed up.
