I have a headset top that has had a bump at some point and the lip is missing.

Not too bothered about the lip but the screw hole doesn't line up and is about 3mm out.

As you can see with the rim offered up the whole edge has dropped.

Any ideas on how I can straighten out :?:

Can I anneal and then try to persuade it back where it should be?

Thank you

Is that a reproduction rim? that may be your problem rather than the headset top being distorted.

No it's an original that's been re chromed and this is the only area where it does not align.

The problem with trying to re-shape it is that it may end up worse or even snap. Fibreglass/filler may be an option. I'd consider getting some weld around the screw hole and drill and re-tap.
