E10 fuel coming in September, I take it’s a no no for our classics, so what’s the options?

The problem is that 'super' isnt available evertwhere so you are fecked if you are touring :?

My thoughts exactly. Tend to fill up when I have to and probably don’t have the option (fuel) to go to the next garage if no ‘super’ available. :shock: Back to carrying a jerrycan?

The problem is once the new E10 rules come in as far as I read it even super will have to have ethanol in it.I already use Putoline E10 fuel fighter as as has been said super is not always available

Here in New York City (and most of the surrounding tri-state area) all pump fuel is E10, even the premium / ‘super’ unleaded. It has a been that way for more than several years. It’s far from ideal, but that said, I’ve had no major issues, even using non-viton seals. Based on my personal experience I would recommend you change floats and float needles in any OEM Dell’Orto carbs to ethanol resistant ones and fill it up with ethanol-free fuel when winterizing it.

When touring Europe which has been using E10 for years and I’ve filled up with it every time and had no major issues.There’s a fella on utube who did at experiment on using 100% ethanol on various motorcycle parts( fuel pipe, carb parts and the like)over a four year period. General consensus from him that the ethanol had very little effect on destroying said parts.

I think there is a mis conception as to the main problem with ethanol for me its it ability to draw water from the air so if you are an occasional rider or never let your tank go below half tank the water content of the fuel will rise until it goes off or worse case causes a seize or holed piston. It's true over long periods of immersion in ethanol some rubber and plastic parts fail but for me it's not the main issue
