Api

A mate is looking to buy a lambretta.
It’s a 1974 GP150.
The owner says it’s an API and the frame number starts
AP017. Does this sound ok ? I can’t find anything online to confirm that API
produced a GP.

The AP might be for Allwyn Pushpak , an Indian co that did make GP’s under licence , I have some parts that are stamped APSL

Firstly there is no such thig as a 1974 GP150, the year is impossible. GP's did not go into production by SIL
in India until 1976 and under license by APSL much later, probably 1977/81. Drivera is correct in that it is an Alwyn Pushpak however that is not what the AP stands for. Alwyn Pushpaks were made under license from SIL by Andhra Pradesh Scooters Limited. It is nothing to do with API, who made the S2's plus others.

Not sure how your mate thinks it is a 1974 but it is most definitely not!
