petrol tank modificaton

due to various tolerance stack up issues its a very tight fit.
I have scratched the paint off my tool box and frame trying to fit it in, the throttle cable is a tight fight and there is no room for the straps to be fitted.
So, the only solution is to have the petrol tank, (which has already been painted once and then powder coated to the correct colour), modified by grinding out the forward and aft flanges and re-welding the surfaces flush.
Does anyone know of any decent petrol tank welders / repair shops in the north west who can do this?
There is a motorbike petrol tank repair shop in Devon, but would prefer to stay in the north west.
