Headset cables visible

About to fit the horncast onto my 150dl rebuild.
The gap between the headset btm and the inside legshields at the back and the horncast at the front is approx 6mm +.
I cant move the legshields up much as theres already a gap to the rear floor boards.
Im not too happy that you can see the cables.
Has anyone masked off this gap with a plastic shield or something similar?
Im thinking of glueing some 1.6mm black rubber to the inside legshield at the back and inside the horncast to hide these cables.
Any thoughts or advice?
Cheers Citydaz.

used gorilla tape to secure some 1.6mm rubber to the inside of the horncast and this has done the trick!

get the leggies right then attack the footboard struts with a timmy or slot the struts to give more footboard movement 8-)

There could be various reasons as to why you have this gap especially if the build is a bitsa.
Have you tried some spacer washers between the 3 point fixing of the steering clamp and the headset bottom? ;)
