Sat Nav Mounting

I have a Sat Nav from my previous BMW GS that I'm thinking to put on the GP.

It has a mounting base that needs 12V of course & securing to something. I am considering mounting directly to the Headset Top, over the headlight for ease of use. Of course that means I will have an 8mm diameter hole to carefully drill, but I really do not want it on the right side mirror mount for balance reasons.

What are the preferred mounting positions you folks use other than on the mirror mount?

Cheers.

I would mess with the headstock.
I had a Garmin sat nav off my BMW and mounted it on a legsheild toolbox.
However, things move on and I have Bluetooth in my helmet and it connects to my iphone,so I could use google maps.

I did think I could just use ear phones.. alternatively wing it with a map as I have 1/2 an idea where I'm going..
