BGM Rear Shock Users

Postby Solid Air » Tue Jul 02, 2024 12:00 pm

Anybody been using the BGM Pro R12 V3 rear shock fully loaded on trips, that can provide any feedback?

They look very good solo, but interested how they work with a 16 / 17st bloke, loaded panniers and camping gear.

Thanks, Mark

The V3 is superb, transformed the back end in my Winter model. I’m 105kg and travel with plenty of gear on Euros etc.
I previously had an R1 shock and then a Protech, the V3 is by far the best. Not cheap.

Have you considered contacting protech and asking them to make you a custom rear shock ?

I visited Protech to collect my dampers & shock not long ago. Very helpful and really interesting to see the whole engineering process, I'm sure they'd be keen to help.

I can’t answer your question as I have not covered enough miles on this shock and I am several stone shy of the figure you quote :).

But my experience of the Rob Gray version of BGM Pro R12 V3 rear shock is very, very positive. It’s hard to describe why but, in my opinion, it’s the best rear shock I have used. If you ask me again at the end of 2025, when I shall have hopefully covered loads of miles on it, I’ll be able to give you a better review :D

Thank you all. I did buy the BGM shock a few months back, and hope to soon have it fitted to my new build.

Cheers, Mark
