Good afternoon

Any suggestions on how to remove a solid copper exhaust gasket from exhaust stub
Originally used reinzosil on mating face.

Cancel that, it seems acetone works and a bit of blunt force

Is that sealant good?
heard good things so bought some, obviously not used it yet.

+1 - its great stuff

Only one downside as the OP has pointed out - its so good, its difficult to seperate when you come to strip down. I had a terrible job trying to get the barrell off the base packer / casing. I'll be trying the acetone method next time.

whats the best paste/sealent for exhaust slip/manifold sealing???

Silicone bathroom sealant - the one that smells like vinegar. Decades of use has proven it to many of us I’m sure.

As many racers will tell you, if an engine strip is necessary between races on the day, there’s no time for allowing a sealant to go off & silicone copes.

You may just end up with what looks like some kind of distorted sex aid blasted out of the exhaust as a bonus……

sounds a bit temporary does silicon, something more robust to keep exhaust joints sealed.
i use several silicons at work and wouldnt trust them to seal with excessive heat.
I do stand to be corrected hence the reason im seeking advice.

Just try setting silicone alight. Bearing in mind that glass has silicone as one of it’s components & that the electrical sleeving @ the business end of anything designed to get hot - such as hot air guns etc - is silicone, then you might consider differently…..

One product that I have had fail is Blue Hylomar ‘as recommended by Roll Royce’ which is more akin to blue snot.

I’ve used the bathroom silicone sealant on road exhausts & never had a problem.

Anyway, you asked & there you have my recommendation.
