What are people using to replace the junction box for the engine compartment wiring connectors. I have been using the Lambretta one but it needs replacing.

I've been doing some work on these recently.

Most of the bother can be fixed .

But I can build a better than new regulator.

Or I can probably fix yours.

I'm not after making money but neither am I keen to be out of pocket

My TV175 has the original loom mated to a Vape electronic ignition. Initially, I tried to use the original junction box. But, the connections are wrong for an electronic ignition. You can buy the correct ones. I only mention to stop you making the same mistake if you have a similar set up.

Should have mentioned it's a DC system.

I don't use the junction box I just wire direct from the engine to the cdi and the regulator. That way you remove a potential failure point

You're dead right, but they keep it looking original if that's what you're after.

What I've found is that the connections are riveted and these obviously become loose and oxidise over time. I fix them by soldering, but the terminals are brass, so it's a bit tricky.

A mate's newly restored tv200 nearly went up in flames due to this recently

I used a small electrical connector box from amazon - about £4.
Inside i put the wires to be connected using household electrical terminal blocks.
The box i glued and cable tied to a small piece of acrylic (an old chopping board sprayed black).
The acrylic plate I bolted through the hole in the outboard arm.
Job done - looks really neat compared to the standard GP rubber boot arrangement.

Thank you for all your advice.
