Exhaust Fitting Problems

I'm trying to fit a Casa standard exhaust to my series 3 TV175 but it's a very poor fit.

I can get it on the manifold & front studs ok but then it sits too high near the frame strut so it rubs/touches on the rear footboard. Also the tailpipe is much too high to the point where the only way it will fit is if i apply force? It also sits too close to the chain case level plug so that it would be impossible to remove with the exhaust on.

I have tried bending the front bracket slightly and bending the manifold so it sits lower but with little success :?

I am now considering buying a different manifold but before that thought i'd ask on here.

I can’t speak for Casa exhausts as I have never tried one. But, in the last few years, I have had similar issues with a Scootopia and a Tutto Lambretta exhaust.

I tried to fit a complete Scootopia exhaust to my own s3 TV175. It was miles out. I ended up fitting the original u bend (I have no idea whether it was the original but it was the one it came from Italy with), with the kink in it, with the Scootopia silencer. That fitted okay.

I feel your pain.

Such a lottery when it comes to fitting standard exhausts , I've collected quite a few standard U-bends as I find I have to chop and change them just to get a system to fit. I think most pipes I've had ( even OEM innocenti) over the years have required fettling and fitting. Paul

I've had zero problems with:

BGM
Avanti ex box
Ancillotti.
Gori

Maybe I'm just lucky?

Just fitted a scootopia clubman to new build over the weekend and it fit well, ie cylinder/ubend to engine block clearance on cowlings etc... Even the tail pipe bracket went easy.... All good until i put the stand up!

Stand not going fully up catching on the lip of exhaust... Might be able to grind back edge of exhaust.... But had enough by then and left it next week.

Sometimes it’s the ubend being too long and pushing the silencer further out, Gaz. I’d suggest you have a look at that first, mate.

I’m referring to box exhausts in general. I’ve never tried a SIP clubman.

Annoyingly, the u bends not pushing the main body out, so catching stand...
Then the u bend springs are mounted on top and bottom... So to one fouls the cowling.
And finally the tail pipe covers the jack stand casing hole...
Brilliant!
Got a 42mm AF at back of garage, will see what that fits like... Or maybe move to a SIP box

As a note, you came usually slide the stand bar in from the rear
