Headset vibration

Running in rebuilt tv175 engine and at higher revs the headset is vibrating to the point where I think the headlamp is going to fall out!
Checked the fork bearings and repacked with grease.
Speedos been making a whirring/ticking noise so could it be that? I've noticed on headsets I've stripped down before that people have attached a piece of foam behind the bulb holder:?:

The foam on or around the speedo is usually because the cables in the headset are routed the wrong way. Also, some speedo bulb holders are not fit for purpose and can ground out in the headset.

The vibration, if it is that bad, has got to be something else. Have you checked that the two halves of the front hub are properly together?

Simple things first

- Have you checked that the forks have no play and the lock washer nut is still tight and adjusted correctly - this can sometimes move a little when tightining. You can think you;ve got it right and then its moved
- Headset bolt is nipped up and no movement when the scooter is stopped.
- Have you put something under the stand feet to raise the front end and made sure everything is solid and no play ?
- is it just the front end thats vibrating - or all of the scooter ?
- is the scooter / headset vibrating when just revving in netual with you sat on it ?
- Checked front hub & wheel rim is securely fixed with no play
- Hub & back plate tightened & half nut nipped up ?
- Front tyre inspected & free of bulges ? even tyre wear ?

BGM engine mounts. Vibration issues solved on two scoots once replaced with SIL engine mounts. If you can put up with the vibration it does reduce after a few hundred miles use found this out on my TV which I no longer own.

I've been out on the scooter after checking the following: Fork bearings - repacked with grease and adjusted, wheel/hub nuts, headset and basically everthing that has a fastener on it!

I'm still getting vibration problems though so may change the silent blocks to Scootopia ones. The ones I fitted were 20yr old Casa ones, well I think they are Casa? no markings on them just a yellow line on one side?

The only other possibility is that the crankshaft is twisted as suggested but the engine runs very smoothly when it's stationary even at high revs

You could try riding it down a hill at the speed where the problem seems worst with the ignition cut to see what difference that makes? (bit screwed if you live in East Anglia tho)

Scootopia silent blocks are a disaster in my experience hard as a rock,,,,,stay away
