TV175 III.All standard.
Used to be a reliable starter but after being laid up most of last winter carb started flooding(actually overflowing).Carb off and cleaned with new float and needle.Starts intermittently sometimes but will generally die shortly after.Plug wet.Good spark with various plugs but Quick Start doesn't make it fire.No air leaks/blockages I can see and it will die when exhaust is blocked.
Been focused on the fuel side of things cos don't want to go over to the dark side of ignition issues!
Could it be an issue with the choke? But that seems to operate OK.
Appreciate any help.God bless these forums.

Is there good compression? I wonder if the rings have seized in grooves over the winter.
Also, the fuel might have degraded. Try fresh fuel.

Thanks K.
Fresh fuel and compression seems ok to me.
But...forgot to mention the BIG CLUE.It backfires on kickover. Not all the time but maybe once every 10 or so attempts.
Cheers
