I've got to hack off bent and damaged cross members and reweld on new ones to two series 2 frames. Has anyone got definitive dimensions or a diagram for positioning these? Any handy tips on how to do it? I was going to make up a template in plywood or something to hold them in the right position. is that the way to do it?

I had a chat with Frank Sanderson last week on this very subject.

He recommends having all your panel work and footboards to hand to dry build and approach it from that angle rather than relying solely on "factory" measurements.

Some folk do have measurements as they have been posted on here before.

Unfortunately series 2 are not the same as series 3. front strut seems to be further forward than on s3.
And my legshields aren't that good or straight so I don't really want to be putting the struts on wonky to suit them!
Are there just some standard dimensions that people use?

Since I wasn't able to find any dimensions on the internet for series 2 ( and yes Series 2 struts are qute different to series 3) sketched below are the dimensions for the strut positioning that I've measured/estimated
May be of some use to others
If anyone thinks ive got anything wrong, please let me know, before I weld it all up!
