JL3 Downpipe/U Bend

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a Downpipe/U Bend for a JL3 exhaust, to fit a series 2. I have the main exhaust, just need a replacement downpipe

If Im wrong Im sure someone will come along. I have had several JL3 and 4 and other than the tailcan they are a one piece pipe with a slip joint onto the exhaust port stub. you then have a choice of round or oblong stubs, with the pipe held by 2 springs

I may be wrong but do some of the franspeed 3 pipes come like that . A mate of mine just sold a stainless steel franspeed 3 and it had a short down pipe that removed that went in to slip joint that fits to the barrel . col

I'll probably be ok then. I've got the springs with the exhaust, & I've also bought the stub to go on the barrel. It's the 1st time I've owned a sports style pipe. It's replacing the AF Clubman that I had fitted. Just assumed as that had a separate downpipe, this would have one too

So are the slip joints available from anywhere?

Your stub bolts on the barrel. It has a pipe inner and outer about 1.5mm apart. Your JL will fit into the stub and be held in place by your springs. Thats the slip joint. You should also have a heavy shark fin shaped bit of steel with to bolt holes and slots. The bolts hold it to the chain case same as your existing pipe. Then normally you have 2 nylon bobbins that fit into the large holes on the pipe and bolts and large washers through the bobbins and sharks fin. Finally the tail can slips in the end with more springs. You will normally have another bracket that goes on the back end of the chain case to support the end can. Sounds a lot but have a look at someone who has one fitted. Fit it all loose first before tightening up. You may have to trim your foot board to clear the sharks fin and the rear to clear the pipe as it exits the kickstart area. Remember that end is moving up and down with your suspension. Great pipes when fitted but they do have ground clearance issues and can hang up driving off curbs. JL Pipe 1. Lol

Use some high temp silicone sealant on the slip joints to make a better seal
