I have standard GP clutch springs with a 4 plate surflex clutch on my mugello 200 and it was suggested on the last dyno it had to use some stronger springs as they seemed on the limit. Not had a problem on the road to be fair, but what springs would you recommend that isnt over expensive and doesnt require popeye to pull the lever in? Ive read about standard Vethpa springs around lammy ones or maybe Taffspeed?

Hey any feedback is welcome ;)

Just been looking around,MBD ones are just over a tenner whereas Taffspeed are half the price.A mate fitted some mallossi springs in his Li and the lever operation is far too heavy for my liking. He doesnt mind, but he is virtually an ape anyway.Anyone tried the Taffspeed ones?

If you have a heavy clutch, try fitting a nylon lined clutch cable, and consider converting to an RD350 clutch lever (recommended)

MB springs get my vote too, I tried Taffspeed ones but found them too heavy. Changed to MB springs and found to do exactly what was claimed. I have them fitted in Reedspeed budget 5 plate clutches in an Avanti 225 and a TS1 225, both have a light clutch action and no slippage 8-)

Stroke of luck then! I ordered MB ones yesterday as the ebay ones were open and as rightly said, could be anything.

its a muggy 200.

nylon lined clutch cable and standard springs for a 4 plate clutch, next step is standard vespa over lammy springs. shouldn't need more than that to be honest.

far too many "performance" spring sets that never actually rebound to original length on the market.
im building a gt186 and using standard springs only on my 4 plate clutch

Another trick with the nylon lined outer clutch cable is to fit an aircraft grade multistrand inner cable. This really does make a world of difference on a heavy clutch
