Clutch drag when hot

Hi,

Thoughts & suggestions welcomed. My LI with a SIL 200 motor has a habit of clutch drag when the motor is well warmed-up. Clutch cable adjustment with the motor cold is right but as the motor gets warm I get too much free movement on the clutch lever and the associated drag.

I recently replaced the original SIL friction plates with BGM and changed the oil to Maxima E85 but the issue remains.

Regards,
Simon.

did you change the springs if not it could be slipping a little allowing the plates to heat up and causing the drag or is your sprocket milled out to allow the plates more room to seperate if not that can cause drag . if you need just a little more seperation you can bend the tabs of the bottom friction plate up .I do this by putting the tab in a vice placing a piece of plywood againt the plate to keep it flat and pull on the wood to bend the tab.

Thanks Paul.

I didn't change the springs (suppllier was out of stock) but I think you may be right that I'm getting a little slip which is causing the friction plates to expand. Next time I have the side case off I'll renew the springs.

Regards,
Simon.
