When fitting the drip tray and felt ring,I always fit the tray first and then the felt ring, that way the felt ring can be taken out and dried if fuel is spilt.

I had a nightmare with my drip tray and ended up cutting loads of it away including 2 notches so that the spring clips could clip onto the hole in the frame.

I used the early type fuel tank rubber buffers. I'm not convinced that the drip tray and felt should be used with those type. Anyone wiser than me?

Did you make sure that the drip tray sat on top of the tank below the flap opening ? It can be a little difficult to get in,but if you soke it in hot water until its supple enough,it usually goes in without much trouble.

I had to trim trays to get them to fit - even after the hot water method
