I notice in Sticky's it recommends fitting a fast flow fuel tap even to standard engines. I have a standard 200 engine so what is the advantage of fitting the fast flow tap?
and does it mean you use more fuel than if you stuck to the original?

You'll still use the same amount of fuel, but you wont risk the chance of fuel starvation, possibly causing your engine to seize

I have just yesterday cleaned my TV 175 III part in cellulose thinners etc to clear the drillings and the long tube filter.
Even cleaned out when you blow down the passages of the delivery side of the block the restriction is huge. no wonder he advises a fuller flow! Is there some deliberate flow restriction in there under the black disc?
A new free-flow tap is better than a seized piston....

Thank you chaps, it appears the one I have had in the garage for a couple of years deserves to be fitted, so I had better get on with it.

Mate, don't fit a cheap one. Cambridge Lam' sells decent ones and they are only a few pounds.
