TV cable brakes/ tyres?

Postby 911hillclimber » Wed Feb 04, 2015 7:03 pm

Keeping the stock configuration, but my flat clean disc could do with a skim and fresh pads.

Any opinions on pads? The TV will be a occasional weekend run-out scooter, nothing more.
In my other interests, usually the most expensive ones are the best. Is this so?

Is reverse-pull really worth it? Back in '67 I had this on my TV3 175 and it worked ok rather than great. World was a different place then though.

To tyres, I want white walls BUT with the minimum of white, more white band, classic tread look, standard size.
Again, are the most expensive the best? I am thinking to fit 'winter' tyres and use them all year round for wet grip, or is this stupid?

Bit of guidance needed as usual please.

Graham.

I use the reverse pull set up and find it very beneficial. Also I recommend sintered brake pads. Newfren work fine for me. My scoot front brake gave great readings on the MOT Station brake rollers and on the road good feel and inspire confidence. Pete.

That effing awful seat will act as a windbrake so you don't need to worry unduly about friction coefficients

Thank you both for fact and a good imagination, made me smile!

I've seen those pads. I have standard rear shoes (new), but better at the front is a benefit.
Also notice Scoot Rest have a 20% off offer...

Yes, I've made my mind up to do this 'mod' now I've read and remembered how simple the change is!

The detail on your front assembly looks great, better pull my socks up...
Thanks,
Graham.
