I got my v5 back with bicycle rather than historic and demand for tax payment!

Rang up Swansea and was told to get PO to change it.

PO say 'no we can't do that'.
DVLA says 'yes they can'.

PO say 'we know nothing about it'.

DVLA say -send it to us then -with V10 form and MOT certificate original.

.........and they wonder why they are losing money?

when you receive a nova number do you also recieve a certificate of some kind with the number. I have just been refused a registration because they informed me that Idid not have a NOVA number. The scooter was purchased from a dealer who supplied the dating certificate plus a verble NOVA number which I sent off to the DVLA .They refused me so could somebody tell me if I need a certificate.

^Yes you need a NOVA cert. for your own piece of mind. If done properly it will be on the DVLA system a few days after the NOVA application is successful. Usually they email a number to you then post you a hard copy certificate. Find it strange to get a verbal number from the seller.

I had an email with the reference for my last one but no "certificate".

Ring up HMRC - I found them quite helpful.

Thanks for the info, on my refusal letter it suggested I speak to HMRC about the NOVA number. I spoke to them and explained that the dealer I brought the scooter from had been issued with NOVA number which they passed to me ,I told them the number then they said that they could not speak to me about the NOVA they could only speak to the original applicant, They advised me to ring DVLA explain that there was a number, cut a long story short the DVLA told me to resubmit my application with a covering letter explaining the circumstances. Watch this space as they say.

Thanks Fiveo

When I registered my series 2 the application kept getting returned,it would appear that the DVLA computer doesn't recognize the letter I when entered within the VIN number (LI 125)it keeps coming back as a 1 (L1 125) I managed to get the name of one of the supervisors and he told me to address the application to him, this I did and the application was successful. The address is - Mathew Donaghue,FR3,DVLA,Swansea.

Do you do the NOVA on line, or get a form from the Post Office ?

I've just received my NOVA letter. Like the DVLA's database, it seems it doesn't recognise Li, and the letter states L1. I'll fill in the V55 with Li and see what happens. If it gets returned, I'll send it back to Matthew Donaghue as above. Anyone got any other thoughts ???
