Mag housing circlip seat

Hi All I need a little advice please. I've started to strip my engine in preparation for having the casings aqua blasted before a complete rebuild, apart from a broken engine case stud everything has come apart quite easily. I came to remove the flywheel side bearing from the mag housing and noticed that there was a fracture in the metal around the circlip seat, as I removed the circlip, the damaged parts broke off.
I'm inclined to find a replacement as it holds a bearing in place but what do you guys think?

Cheers

I would err on the side of caution and fit another housing. It is possible for circlips to move and if this one does it may ride out with expensive results. If you do decide to keep the old housing put the circlip eyes as far away from the missing section as possible.

Thanks for the advice, I think I'll replace the mag housing just to be safe. Will any series 3 mag housing fit? The engine is a li 125 special or do I need to get a specific one?

Cheers

Personally I'd re-use it. The circlip holds the seal in, not the bearing so clean out the groove, fit the circlip ends opposite with a dab of lockite around the clips edge.
