Ser 1 front drum with GP backplate?

Will a GP front hub backplate work OK with a Series 1 drum?
Am I right in saying the shoes are different too, and if so, do I use the GP ones?

as far as I'm aware it'll work... I think the shoe difference is rear brakes

I have a complete front hub if you want one david....

I used gp shoes in my series 3 li but i had to change to a gp cam too. I assume you'll have to do the same?
I kept the li drum.
