Just been out for a ride and very sluggish pulling away. Realised that front disc was partially on and wouldn't release. I've eased it back a bit in the garage but the wheel isn't spinning freely. Anybody had the same problem ideas?

Sounds like the caliper needs stripping as corrosion / dirt is not allowing the pistons to return.

Just been out to the garage, all cooled down and wheel spinning freely? I don't get it?

give the caliper a good clean with brake cleaner paying special attention to the pins it floats on than re asemble using copper grease

Is that a difficult job? I'm ok with most things, but not stripped a caliper before

Also check there is free play at the lever, if the cable is too tight it may not allow for fluid expansion when hot.

Unbolt the caliper from the backing plate take the pads out, then CAREFULLY pull the brake lever so as to push the caliper pistons out a bit ( around 5mm ) if there is a line of rust or crap on the pistons clean off with clean brake fluid ( don't use anything else ) you can use a cotton bud or something similar , then push the pistons back in by hand , clean the pins and lightly copper slip them then put the pads back in , reassemble then replace the fluid ( if more than a couple of years old ) with new fluid .
Hopefully that should sort the problem out

Thanks to you all for your help. Did the job an hour ago and just been for a start/stop 15 miles and no problems at all. Even temped me to open up my new Muggy 198 set up - wow!!
