Out of interest why have you ruled out S83s if you want a classic looking tyre that is going to last a few miles, surely these fit the bill?

If you liked the Dexter, have a look at the Heidenau K58's, brilliant in all weathers and very similar looking .

Dexters lasted well too. Without question If Michelin still manufactured Dexters. I'd buy'em everytime.
Couldn't agree with this statement more
It was a bit of a mystery why Michelin stopped making Dexter's, a really good all round tyre that lasted well.

I quite like the SM100s I have on the pig, never tried them on a Lambretta though.

In my experience SM100s wear out quite quickly but they are more grippy, which is what I look for, than S1s or S83s. That said, I am a Heidenau convert these days. As Mel says, the K58 is good as is the K47 (haven't yet tried the K61).

Sava B13,s are also worth considering.A good retro look about them, with good grip in wet and dry.
