Hi all , my li 125 / 75 top end keeps cutting out when I'm stopped at traffic unless I keep reving it . It's fine when I start it and runs smoothly . I have a jetex carb was thinking of cleaning it out or do you think there could be something else wrong with it ? Much help appreciated .

First try adjusting the cable and tickover screw if that fails. Give the carb a clean and blow out with either an airline or carb cleaner.

If it does tickover on the stand check the fuel pipe isn't kinking when you're sat on It.

Check the choke is opening/ closing properly.

If you can get it to tickover on the stand you can turn the mixture screw in / out to till you find a nice steady tickover. It usually should be about 1.5 turns out from fully in. More or less and you might need to think about changing the pilot jet up or down a size and see how that goes.

Jetex carbs can be a bit hit or miss.

If you have a very light flywheel that can also make a decent tickover difficult to achieve.

Thanks I'll give that a go , it starts fine with the choke on and ticks over soon as I turn the choke off after 5 mins it cuts out . Yeah herd mix reviews about the jetex carbs , thanks for your help .

give the carb a good clean with carb cleaner making sure you blow down the jets and don't be tempted to poke wire down them if you think there's something stuck use a nylon bristle from a soft brush or my favorite (as I've got a cat) a cat whisker

Cleaned carb out gave everything else a good clean and have now adjusted the Tickover and mixtures screws until a steady Tickover was achieved thanks for all your help!! Hopefully that's sorted it !!

Not cat protection but one of pugs hairs came in handy !! Thanks for the tip
