Newbie - S3 Speedometer cable

Postby Andie » Mon May 18, 2015 7:57 pm

Hello. First time posting..

I am re-cabling my '63 Li 125 - and am having trouble identifying the speedo cable - i read they changed in '63.

The speedo is CEV marked MOD 7036/80, i giro = 1 metro - do i need an early or later S3 cable please?

Thanks in advance for any help!

take the speedo as well, there are at least two sizes of square drive.

My new Cam Lam speedo ran for 44 miles, lovely needle movement, then just stopped!! Cable turning in headset. God knows what's wrong. Think I'll have to take her out without a speedo in the headset and see if the cable spins while going along. Very frustrating on something that should be reasonably straightforward!! Guess I should save up and get a SIP

File a nail square to fit the speedo then use a drill in reverse to check the needle moves
