Hi guys can anyone tell me the differences between S3 chrome and non chrome ring legshields please and are they/can they be compatible, cheers

They are not compatable to one another.Not sure how to tell the difference.

They are not compatable.

The crome ring is more curved and not so tall than the non crome ring.

Can someone explain exactly why they are not compatible. In Sticky's book page172, he states that the difference between chrome ring and non-chrome ring versions means having a different headset, he doesn't mention that it also affects the legshields. I know that the chrome ring legshields are flat and the non-chrome ring are curved (page 179) but unless the forks are also curved, is that a reason for them not fitting, or is there another reason?

They are compatible,they just look different.If you fit an opposite pair,it will not look so good.
The best way to go is,
chrome ring legshields with chrome ring and chrome ring headset on chrome ring frame,
or non chrome ring legshields with non chrome ring headset,on a non chrome ring frame.
