Occurred to me today my 75% finished TV3 is not insured..
Scooter is not MoT etc but now has a value in the state it is in.
Anyone on here recommend a company who do cover for 'in-restoration' workshop cover of some sort?
Thanks
Graham.

Couldn't you cover it on a normal house insurance policy? Paul

why not just cover it on a normal 12 month Policy ???
My annual comprehensive insurance cover from R H Insurance cost me nothing £0.00 They insured it initially on the frame number for the first month until I got my MOT but would have extended it .
RH Insurance cover all your bikes and scoots up to 1000cc under the one cover. Because I already had cover for my Yamaha XS650 bike for £68 a year the Lambretta cost me nothing !
I could have 2x scoots for free if I wanted .

Carole Nash do me a storage, restoration & theft (or similar) policy which covers projects. It adds onto my classic policy & was worth the piece of mind.

Excellent, thanks for the leads. Want to talk to people who know 'what is what' on the other end of the phone.
sometimes not easy to do...
Be good to do this with someone who will extend the cover to the 'road spec' when it is on the road (god knows when that will be).
I have agreed value on my old classic car so hope the same goes for the TV3.

.
give RH a ring and explain what you want they are sure to accommodate you.Its cheap but a good cover. Agreed valuation and you get your vehicle back in the event of an accident .

How do I get a real valuation though?
In the Porsche world I needed a letter from an expert to verify the valuation from pictures etc.
I'll ask them for some guidance, but thought I would ask as you lot know EVERYTHING!

TV175's have a higher potential worth. Even so you may fall under the threshold value when you look at the policies. I think with Carole Nash I had to produce a valuation when over the value of £5,000. A good place (in some cases) is to look at the sold values in different area's eg auction sites, classified ads etc. Although not finished don't underestimate its worth. Have a look on eBay at prices sometimes fetched for part scooters of the 175 variety. Have a look now at sold listings you might be surprised (I was
