BGM ones are good but avoid scootopia mountings they vibrate too much.

I've used BGM and SIL both good for me but don't last forever

Just fitted Scootopia one's on standard dl 125, true they produce some vibration but soft ones as in the SIL ones didn't last being of a softer compound, heard the BGM ones vibrate too, sadly we're the paying trusting guinnea pigs at the mercy and advice of the distributors, who knows which are best :?

Let's face it, we have to use what we can get.

Even NOS ones will be past it now, at least 40 years old. Rubber perishes.

Opinions will vary on the various options available. It's not a matter of being guinea pigs. The SIL will be whatever they were fitting at the factory, from where ever they could get them from. The quality is likely to be variable.

At least with the BGM or Scootopia ones you can expect they will have been built to a specification with either modern materials or materials based on the original specification. Even then they're relying on whoever they out source that to to deliver the spec. Time will tell whether the quality of those will hold up.

I used successfully genuine SIL, SRP and Uni

as said they don't last forever whatever brand you choose.

apparently there is a price to pay for using the series 3 'silent block' type mounts . Wider axle bolt and wider outset of the mounting blocks with softer rubber creates more flex between the engine and frame connection . Its probably not the ideal thing you want if you are running an uprated engine and pootling along at 70mph+

If you want a stiffer connection with less flex and better control leaning in the corners ,then early style series 1 & 2 are apparently what some racers use or even solid polyurathane blocks, obviously at the expense of comfort and vibration.

Definitely an interesting subject and as said all dependant on what the rider is looking for.I've ridden my dl to work this week and am generally happy with Scootopia mounts albeit they produce a little more vibration than my knackered SIL ones. 8-)

Hi And thanks all,
What I am looking for is ones that help stop the bad vibration.

The only way your going to stop bad vibration on a Lambretta is not to start the engine ;)
