Hi,
I have a standard li150 S2 with the brake switch which has the single connection, the brake light was working fine but a few weeks ago I changed the external ignition coil and now the bulb is very dim when you press the brake on.
The original ignition coil I had was this type: http://www.riminilambrettacentre.com/en ... s1-li.html -
I had problems with it cutting out when it was warm so changed it over to an old Ducati cylinder type which was from a GP150, this fixed the issue but seems to have affected the rear brake light.
The running lights are fine but I'm wondering if the new coil is somehow drawing more power to the spark and not leaving enough juice to light up the brake light?!
Looking at wiring diagrams it seems the brake light is powered from the ignition coil on the stator (not the lighting coil) - this type earths through the rear bulb so if it blows you'll cut out the engine when you press the rear brake pedal.
All of the earths seem ok, and the switch works, has anyone seen this before? Any ideas?!
Cheers,
Rog
