Technical help for Series one, two and three Lambrettas. Models include the Li, Li Special, TV, SX, GP, Serveta and API/SIL models

One of the tabs that hold the lower fork buffers in place has broken off on my GP forks.
If i use a pair of uprated dampers, then can i remove the lower buffers completely?
Or would i drill & tap a hole from the bottom & use a bolt to hold them in place?
Cheers

Just replace it with a bolt in buffer - Dremel out the remains of the clip first.

Far easier to replace it with the bolt in type unless you're handy with a welder.

I find it easier to weld some fabricated metal back in there to replace the originals, the scooter restorations replacement ones look good.

You'll be handy with a welder then.
