Hello again
After a bit of drama with losing a beam and snapping earth off rim adjuster fixing I'm back now at the point where I got to run the wire and fit the little push button for the speedo to select the functions, anybody got a photos/s of a neat, practical solution of how to do this/where to fit.... please
thanks
Mark

On my series 2 I have brought the wire out through the headset clamp bolt hole and stuck the button below the horn button/ dip switch.

Similar to the above pic, but I file a small slot in the switch housing for the wire to exit under the switch.

Thanks Guys
I have put it on like Steve has done but I think when I get a chance I will try to do what Wack has done, got it working really well now and great to have a working speedo for once, a total bonus on a Lambretta!!!
Cheers for the posts everyone
Mark

I fitted mine in the same place as Steve, but, looking at that pic, I drilled a 4mm hole to the left of the button. I cut the plug off the other end (with approx. 70mm of cable still on the plug end) and fed the cable through. I put some small diameter heat shrink tube over the cable to protect it from the throttle mechanism.
I then cut the cable to the required length and soldered the cables back together and finished the joints with heat shrink to protect the joints. All good.
If you want a pic I'll post one, let me know.

On a slightly different drift and I love this technology btw.
The speedo if cable driven is only as good as the drive mechanism and in my case wasn't much better than the original so I opted for the sensor. This is great and I calibrated it with a GPS so it's spot on, uses a magnet for the sensor. Only problem is the bloody mounting. I've fixed the sensor to the fork tube, but that's static and the magnet on the wheel isn't. So when I go over bumps or brake the magnet and sensor move out of line and speedo effectively stops. This isn't a major issue coz when it works it's spot on. However it affects the mileage reading, in my case typically under records mileage by between 4 and 7 %. Anyone got a better mounting solution?

I put it on the top of the master cylinder mount and ran the cable through the hole in the headset where the hydraulic hose enters.

Clearly not a comment aimed at the general confusion of my workshop

If you can see the bench top then it's not a proper workshop

Here is my solution.Just run it out of the light switch. Pulled it out a little further and played about until it was a comfortable distance from the throttle for my thumb. Then you can easily flick though settings on the move. Still a little too distracting though! Li150 Series 2.
Bloody brilliant gadget now I have it working!!
