Tubeless rims

Made the mistake of ordering the wrong rims
Have to remove air to get rim on and then can't inflate tyre because valve fails hub fins.

Small screwdriver behind valve and bend it away when you want to put air in. Better still buy an extension to fit the valve.
Hope we're talking rear Hub.

I looked at mb valve extenders
But they don't look as though they would work

Jonoy, I had a problem with my front 'standard' width AF tubeless rim, in that a Tesco air compressor nozzle bottoms out on the rim, making it imposible to inflate, and Tesco nozzles are pretty generic amongst most petrol forecourts.
I bought a couple of valve extenders from 'JustLambretta' (Martin Hyland) during this years Coast to Coast, and just keep one in the tool box (you can leave them on if you prefer) as & when I need to inflate the tyre.
On the rear, Ben at AF recommended a 'wide' rim to get over the problem you're having, as the valve sits slightly further away from the edge, enabling the nozzle to go on ok, & the valve must be slightly longer on the 'wide' rim, as it seats ok & inflates without the extender.
Apparently the problem is these rims were designed for european market, where forecourt nozzles must be slightly shorter. In fairness to SIP, once the problem with the UK market came to light, they sent out extenders FOC.
When I queried the problem with AF, they said they were unaware of the issue..........which I find a little odd to say the least.
I've also swapped my standard hub nuts for the longer ones (can be a pig of a job), as there's obviously more thread for the supplied dome nuts to bite onto.
What I've also discovered is that they do tend to need re-inflating every few weeks or so, which is a pain.
.......................wish I'd stayed with trad' split rims :?

Thanks for the reply
I received the wheels with tyres fitted today
I stayed away from the sip rims owing to longer hub studs being needed.
I can't get the front on at all once you put the 2 washers on no room for dome nut which is quite long

I had this problem with AF Std width rim on rear and just filed away some of the fin to allow the inflater to go on the valve. Not ideal for some I know. Queried this with AF's who said their manufacturer had made a huge batch to the wrong (original and not the revised) drawings. They have had a previous batch which were fine. Again they said a wide rim would get over this but it's not ideal especially if you like to rotate your wheels with the front.

I bought a couple of these valve extenders, only £1.60 each and work really well, just a shame they don't do them any more but there must be similar products out there;

Somewhat frustrating though that you even need to, tubeless rims aren't cheap and the minimum you would expect is for them to fit onto Lambretta hubs, the valve not to foul the hub fins and have a valve deep enough to fit a forecourt air line onto. Bought my SIP rims with tyres pre-fitted from a well known reseller in the Uk so would have expected the longer valves as standard, but they came with the shorter ones, the re-seller then ignored my emails and when I called said they would send me a pair of longer valves but they never arrived hence I bought the extensions.

I may order the mb valve extender if I can't source one local

I was stranded at a forecourt unable to inflate the tyre on my new front AF Tubeless alloy rim.
I wanted to check the pressure, but it simply deflated and the nozzle would not attach properly to pump up the tyre

The missus had to bring along a bike stirrup pump to re-inflate.

I too have ordered a pair of extenders from eBay , however if AF know the rims are of incorrect spec and won't work with a standard airline, , why are they selling them without warning? ( on the website they mention an issue if using on the rear, but the issue also exists if using on the front hub)

i should have done a bit of research and got the sip rims just didn't want the hassle of changing hub studs for longer ones
and maybe snapping one.
I will order a MB one

Got a valve extender looks totally different yo the one in the picture
Cannot attach it to rear rim
I can't fit a wider rim as the tyre runs very close to the rear mudguard

In that case you may have to bite the bullet and grind some of the rear hub fin away as I did,

I don't want to file the fin really
I may have to buy a sip for the rear and keep the other for a spare.
Can't see why mudguard is so close otherwise would have bought wider rear

Yes I can understand that, this is just another case of parts not fit for the job!

Iam bloody annoyed with myself more than anything.
I did my research and then went and did the complete opposite
Thought the sip rims would cause me more problems
