Rear Shock Refurb

Postby Madstadblues » Mon Aug 17, 2015 11:20 am

I have a good S3 original rear shock that I would like to get refurbished for a resto. Can anyone recommend a company that could help with this ?

As far as I am aware, generic Lambretta rear 'coil over shock absorbers' have not been serviceable since Innocenti/Lambretta Concessionaires said so, probably in the 60’s!

That doesn’t mean that they are not, of course, & I heard of one example where an owner managed to refurbish his own.

It certainly is worth investigating as the characteristics could be changed by using different springs & oil.

So, really, this is just a message of support. Good luck with your research.

I posted about this a few days ago. I took the spring off but I don't think you can dismantle the damper at least I could not see a way. The genuine innocent one's from the 60's could be and re-sealed.
