Hi all

On my S2 L1150 there is about 3 mm of play between the fork link stub and the hub - is this safe / normal? Should the fit be tight?

The hub "slot" does not look worn and the fork link the original which is visually OK / not worn either..

I use a strip of insulating insulating tape wrapped around the peg on the fork link so that there is a nice tight fit between it and the slot on the hub backplate :)

Thanks guys you just helped me to fix my problem too, I thought the headset was loose due to the knocking sensation but after slackening off the front brake I noticed that the link pin was moving a tiny amount in the slot, thanks to your tips I can sort it for the MOT :D

I have a series 2 and the hub doesn't knock, but a friend of mine has a Spanish silver special and to get rid of the play and the knocking it caused he cut a peice of copper pipe, the ones that plumbers use and squashed it to an oval and fit it in the slot in the hub,the peg on the link fits snuggly in the pipe - no knocking.
