Head cowling and exhaust

Postby Chewyboy » Mon Sep 28, 2015 10:32 pm

Hi everyone
My Li 125 series 3 is going back together nicely. After putting the engine in I put on the clubman exhaust and bolted everything up, fine, except I noticed that the seam on the exhaust is touching the head cowling. Wondered if this is normal or not?
Thanks in anticipation.

Was on my AF clubman, just have to grind/file a bit off the cowl not the exhaust or you'll open up the seem.

If your head cowling is pristine, you may be reluctant to grind/file it, or ding it with a ball pein hammer. The same for your exhaust.

You might be better off to remove the cowling & fit a shorter 'long' M8 cylinder head nut. That's where I would grind off excess material if necessary.
