Hello

Hoping you can help/advise please as I'm sure it's been asked a million times already..

I have a GP200 SIL

I've got a new set of Michelin S1 tyres and Airstop 10 B4 inner tubes, having trouble assembling these as the tyre seems to want to cover the value hole.

Any idea'ss on to resolve or do you think the tubes are incorrect.

Cheers

I presume you're talking about split rims?
for starters only put the nuts on a few threads, then give the tube a bit of air, not too much, then slightly give the nuts some more thread, check that the tube isnt goin to get trapped between the rims, the tyre must have slipped over the rims & away from the valve hole by now, then give the tube more air @ the same time checking on the tube, then fully tighten the rims up & fully inflate. don't rush cos you'll only have to buy another tube if you get it trapped.......

Put a bit of lube on the tyre / rim as well when you follow the above.

Agree and try to keep the tyre reasonably warm.

I personally wouldn't be using Airstops as the valve is on the wheel centreline whereas the hole in the rim is offset. This puts an unnecessary strain on the valve stem which can cause premature failure. Upol do a tube made out of thicker rubber with the valve correctly positioned.
