Building a series 3 Li150 engine yesterday..
had the choice of a couple of casings, the best one had a different part number to the others
also, although it had the innocenti stamping, the part number was different
I'll post pics later of the two different types
Does anyone know what the "proper" part number is?

Innocenti stamping is also cast into Indian casings, any other features?

Not sure if this helps but if they were Italian then engine number 150LI 805359 would be from a 1959 series II and engine number 150LI 842960 would be from a 1960 series II.
However I cannot find either of the parts numbers listed in any of the Italian parts manuals for the crankcase.
But with Innocenti records anything is possible.

thanks, landybretta...
Just to add a bit more mystery.. the earlier one is like this underneath, with the extra mounting lug for the exhaust (although some muppet has drilled the front one and gone thru the crankcase!!

Yes, but wouldn't it also be stamped LIS?

As far as I am aware the LI 150 Special frame was stamped LIS but the engine was stamped LI 150 (no S)

quite correct the frame had the S but the engine did not.

Those look like Italian casings from different foundries.

Spanish usually don't have the Innocenti cast in as they seem to have had their own moulds.

This is SIL Indian and has it as they're cast from adapted Italian moulds.

Don't know about other Indian sources as I've not handled any of those.
