the painter in the unit next to mine has a Silver Special in at the moment
new legshields were needed, they come without any holes for the badges.
is there a template available anywhere ? I thought there was something on rimini site, but can't find it now...? I haven't got anything in at the moment to take any measurements from
thanks

They were afaik original holes positions for a silver special , but dims would change slightly if the leggies are miss shaped ?

who asked if I could do this; so before I start drilling... did you measure these across the metal of the legshields, or are are they straight lines using a caliper ?

just to be the purveyor of gloom and doom... do the pins on the badges you have match up with that?

Personally I'd use these a ballpark positions and mark for drilling using the real badges.... especially if its at the painters just now...

yep, worthwhile point, but it's all good, the new badges to fit are with the painter, so will be using them to check hole positioning.

Would this help? Don't forget the Lambretta script doesn't sit horizontal but slopes down to the beading. Image

Straight line with a caliper .
It would of been better to measure on the front of the leggies following the curve with a tape measure, as this would of allowed for any distortion in the leggies . The scooter was complete and I didnt want to take the horncast off to use the holes as datum points , so it was easier to do it off thr screw haeds at the rear. As such it wont be completely accurate, but should get you in the right area :)

FFS I should of copyrighted them ! Lol

It would be good if we had a library of things like this on the forum , maybe in the members area ?
Im thinking of badge hole positions for all models, ink splat position etc. Frame dimensions and lots of other std stuff :)

Russ just a question why the members area ? Why not just add to the relevant sections we gave for each model

No reason really , only just thought of it while I typed .
I just thought to keep the information for the payed up members ......but I suppose with the way t'internet works it wouldnt stay in the members area for long .
I know the scootopia have a set of original blueprints , and I suggested to them that it would make a great poster :) but they said they weren't interested in doing posters . I assume they dont want them freely available , as they use them for their remade parts . I was also told that lcgb hold a copy of the blueprints ? but this hasn't been confirmed ?

I think it would help a lot of people if we could direct them to where they are be a great bit of info to have on line :D

It's about time somebody came up with stick on type badges like cars have, instead of having to drill all those silly little holes.
