A pal has just had a small block Mugello 200 fitted and although it runs fine he is getting a lot of vibration from the engine. He has changed the engine mount (BGM's) and there was no improvement but also has noticed a lot of heat build up on the casing around the mounts area and this was picked up by his dyno operator. The crank is a new Mec Eur (or the new name for them now Tassinari or summat) and is running true, so not twisted. Has anyone got any thoughts on the vibration and / or heat build up and does anyone think they are connected?

Vibration could be caused by many things, however, the most common cause of heat build-up is over advanced ignition timing.

A bit late to post on this one but any chance the crank although running true could be out of balance?

I think we have tracked it down to non matching engine cones. I will report back soon,
