Kickstand hitting the exhaust

Hi.

Just fitted a Scootopia Ancillotti exhaust and the kickstart tab is catching the tailpipe. I've tried adjusting the exhaust but it's pretty rigid in that area with no room for adjustment.

Looking at the kickstart it looks like it could have been bent inwards by a fall, maybe.

Has anyone had any success being these kickstarts outwards in situ or will I break the shaft. Or would it be easier to buy new? Or is it meant to be that shape?

No ideas if the kickstart is aftermarket or original but it does sit very close to the rearboards.

Heres the pics.

DO NOT TRY TO BEND IN SITU !!!

You could mark up the tab with a pencil and then take the offending area off if it's not too big OR take kickstart off and find somebody to shape it out a little.
When you put it back you have to engage the splines just above the return point..you'll see.

Its the correct shape.I'm afraid its quite a normal problem.Every kickstart pedal I've had I've had to cut about 1/2" off the tab so that it doesn't hit the tailpipe.

Many thanks guys. I will whip it off and maybe bend it a little and take a bit of the tab off with a Dremel.

All sorted, took the kickstart off and removed 1/2" off the tab. Works a treat.

Thanks Kris

I fitted a new AF Rayspeed clubman to my bike. I fitted the kickstart then removed the spark plug and slowly pressed the kickstart by hand to make sure that the kickstart tab cleared the tailpipe - which it did. I refitted the spark plug and kicked the bike over. The kickstart immediately bent and it gouged the tailpipe - oh how I laughed !. Scooter dealer strikes again with his cheapo Indian plastic kickstart.

They make a hell of a row when they go past the pipe and won't return. I thought I had snapped the shaft. Yet another that falls into the fettle catagory. The next one will be the stand catches the box when it's up.

Looks a lot like the pipe needs rotated more toward the engine side where it exits the box. It would then fit closer to the underside of the engine rather than angle in where the KS tab goes

Kickstart tab would catch on my Ancillotti as well but nothing my dremel couldn't fix 8-)
