What's the difference between Italian and Indian gp headsets. Got an Italian gp and going to put a hydraulic brake on it. Don't want to drill original headset. Have seen complete Indian headset in scooter restorations, and Italian one on just Lambretta.

Early Indian are very similar to Italian and most things can be switched from one to another, however, later Indian GP headsets were beefed up where the edge of headset meets the lever housings. This means that you have to fit the correct lever housings, headset top and headset bottom as they are no longer interchangeable. Headlight rim fit can be an issue too.

Theres a difference between Innocenti stamped Indian and SIL parts as well. Ive just fitted two odds together and there was a lot of work to get a decent fit.
