After some advice please...
I have some fork links with lumps sticking out of the side, they look like ones drilled for damper studs but don't have any holes for damper studs, but I wondered if I drilled and tapped them would they be safe...

Thanks in advance for any info.

Unless I'm much mistaken that is the righthand side link from a drum brake set up and that " lump " sticking out is what locates in the drum , i.e. its on the inside of the link not the outside , soz mate

Drivera is correct.

That 'lump' is technically the 'torque pin' in that it resists the drum brake turning by acting as the anchor.

For your information, it is the component that becomes redundant if the fork/wheel set up is re-engineered to 'anti-dive' as currently in vogue.

I hope that brief explanation helps.

If you do have the correct type for the left handside as well you can get them adapted to take dampers , I seem to think MB offer that service , probably cheaper than new links ?
