Hi. I have recently purchased an Italian GP. It has a 125 engine with a 150 cylinder, registered as a 150. I wonder if I can fit a Mugello 200 cylinder kit to this engine case. If It Is possible to fit the 200 kit to my existing engine would a different crank/con rob be required ?

Any information would be appreciated. Cheers Paul.

Hi Paul.

Presuming that the history is unknown, you should look thoroughly @ the bottom end. If you have only a GP 125 crank, it would be unwise to fit a cylinder kit that gives any gain in torque & power.
That really ought to be your first port of call before considering any other upgrade to performance.

Once that assessment is done, & you know what’s required, then a Mugello kit would function well if married to upgraded components, specifically a good crankshaft with a decent big-end.

However, in trying to remain impartial, despite owning Mugellos, I really enjoyed a brief ride I had on a GT kitted bike & you might like to consider the pros & cons that any kit may offer. Reed valve engines can be really sweet in an engine intended to plonk around town on with the occasional run……

Thank you very much for your reply. I will be striping the engine completely and replacing the crank etc before fitting a upgraded cylinder kit. Cheers
