I bought one of these little gizmos over a year ago on ebay for about a tenner. Simplicity in itself to fit; about 6 windings around HT lead near plug cap and run the wire through frame to back of tacho; no power connections and it works ! And it works brilliantly. I have bought some rubbish in my time but trust me this is just fantastic. Very responsive and when engine not running shows permanent display of engine run time.

Like a lot of Chinese sourced stuff, no distinguishable name. Slightly smaller than a matchbox and very unassuming. On ebay it was stamped something like single cylinder 2 stroke cycle. If I get time I will take photo.

I ve got the exact one on the link and find them decent.
simple to fit as Chris said and works a treat - they are not in real time they are a fraction behind
just got another one my new build - got one on the vespa aswell
get it fitted and see what you think - it`ll only take 10 minutes
what good about these is they come with a decent length of cable some similar ones have a short wire
