side panel beading glue

hello - whats the best glue for the side panel/ frame beading? I tried an evo-stik impact adhesive but its peeling off the paintwork...

If you use good quality rubbers,you dont need any glue,they fit on and stay on.

thanks. I think the rubbers I have are too thick as well - it all fitted like a well-worn glove pre-paint.
I'll order the SIL ones from MB and see how they go.

All my rubbers are either Casa or Tutto.

I have had two sets in the past, this time I used that clear thin stuff they use for UPVC double glazing trim and beading. It is like a super glue with an aerosol activator. No mess, no residue, JOB DONE It does work and you cannot see it.

Thank you for the replies. I've ordered some new ones and will see how that goes.
What was left of the originals (that may have been replaced) was glued. The UPVC glue looks good George.
Not a big issue. It was rattly and very baggy pre-rebuild and I am not expecting it to be perfect as I've not had any panel beating done!

The Tutto rubbers I ordered went on well and haven't come off. Thank you, I'm sure other brands are as good

i Spent a few hours gently kneading my side panels back into shape as they have twisted a little during the painting process.

They fit fine now but I can't get the rollers to lock with the retaining spring though... is it actually meant to be springy? my 'spring' is the original which is made of 1/4 inch steel and has no give at all.

Thought I'd ask for advice before ordering a new one.

Once you get the first one on the other should be easy. You will probably have to lift the spring on one side as you turn the panel handle on the other. Never normally a need to start bending things.

Just spent two afternoons cleaning away glue that was underneath my old panel rubbers (1966 125 Special) curtesey of a well meaning Italian enthusiast.....fitted Scooter restoration replacements.....excellent quality very tight fit....no need for glue.
