Struggling here and need so advice

Thought I'd got this worked out, but after tearing my engine down following the little Brittany rally, I found the exhaust blowing - AGAIN!!!!
I had flattened the exhaust flange, used a copper faced gasket, used high temp copper RTV silicon, used nordlock washers.

What method have you found works - sealant yes/no?, re tighten after a few warm up cool down cycles?
anything else I'm missing - can't be this difficult

I have just drilled through the nuts and studs, and wired the two together.
That way the nuts and studs cannot turn unless the wire is removed, I must admit it was difficult to get a drill due to the U bend in but I suspect a dremel type drill would get in quite easy.

"daza" had a great idea on another post.He uses a chain tensioner tab washer.Cut the washer in half, place on the stud and tighten the nut, bend the washer over the nut.The cut part can then be bent over the manifold. This way the nut and stud are held in place.

I had this problem for a while, use the brass lock nuts now that you put wire through and tighten up, never went anywhere since, think u can get them on e.bay, and think I saw a similar idea on here with Alan key lock studs but never used them
