Clutch lever pivot hole worn

Hi,

My series 2 has a speedo showing a rather unlikely 10000 miles but the overall mechanical condition seems to bear this out except for the clutch lever pivot. There is a fair bit of wear in the holes in the gear change casting.

Is this something that wears out quickly?

Cheers

It is a common issue and, for this reason, MB sell an enlarged 8mm pivot bolt. I would suggest that it would not wear out in 10k miles though ;-)

Drill the hole out and fit an oversize pivot bolt.If its an original speedo on a series 2 it might be on its second time around.

It probably spent most of its life with a broken speedo cable.
Things wear out but most have work rounds just like this one.
